Caller: Someone posing as the Australian Taxation Office

I received an automated call from this number who said that it was the ATO. I called back and a man with an Indian/Pakistani accent answered asking for my name and address. I didn't give it and said that I would call the ATO's 1300 number as it was safer. He then said that if I didn't talk to him the police would be around to arrest me. I laughed and told him to send them, I'll put the coffee pot on and will wait for them. Obviously a scam.

Did not answer but they left a recorded message. Tax evasion scam.

Seriously, if the real ATO contact you....you know. Not some recorded American or Indian accent.

Something to do with tax avoidation. Ha! "Avoidation" I'm literally dying here!!!!
