Caller claims to be from the ATO about a legal lawsuit involving a bad vacuum and that I should ring back straight away

i received a supposed call from ATO as well claiming back taxes were owed. They stated their name wasJennifer Smith and they were going to take legal action. Tried to call number received no response.

Caller claims to be from ATO but the message left does not contain the name of the person they are calling for. When call was returned @ 6.30pm, call went to a voice mailbox which was answered by a generic message without any identification.

Left a demanding message on my elderly mum's messagebank. Said that this time she was calling from the Department of Information, no such department. "If you don't reply you will be up for all legal charges" Said my mothers first name too. Thankfully my Mum now tells me about these calls, as one received said that her bank account had been reduced to 0. Mongrels.

I received the same message today. A female speaking with heavy African accent in threatening tone demanded to be called back from ATO or a lawsuit will be following. Did not ask for a name of a person to talk to so just willing to get any poor person who picks up the phone. Did not leave a name to call back. I called the number they left and it is saying its disconnected. Definitely a scammer.Will ring police and ATO about this.

Called my grandmother twice. Same ATO scam message.

Asian female left 5 increasingly aggressive phone messages in one day on my 83 yr old mother in laws phone, said she was Jennifer Smith re a BAS. Seriously upset my mother in law as she threatened legal action. Lucky she wasn't home to take the calls. I returned the call today, an asian male answered & said it was the ATO, I asked which office, which address, all went quiet & he then hung up. I used to work for the ATO so know all staff advise their name first then state they're with the ATO with a phone call.There were many other asian voices in the background, sounded like a busy call centre. But NO, it's a scam.

ATO scam. Same call. Bad taxes did not ask for anyone by name. I called them back they say ATO Sean speaking how may I help you? I said you're not the ATO you're a bloody idiot and they hung up 👍🏻

A scam - female voice with (philippino?) accent supposedly from the ATO. About the 5th received from these dunces. It's Tax Time again!

Ring the ATO Scam line on 1800 008 540, they will give you a reference number for logging the call. I had the same message and call.

Very threatening message about law suit. Indian accent. Did not leave name of contact, only this number. Saw this
SCAM on a current affair.

message left from caller who claims to be from ATO informing me there is a legal case against me for my "BAS Tax"...........interesting as I do not run a business or lodge BAS statements. SCAM! Do not return their calls

Caller left a message claiming to be from ATO stating lawsuit against us for BAS taxes.. Don't even have a business.

This number is a scam. Left an abusive and threatening message (heavy Indian accent) on my machine regarding so called legal action for back taxes. I am an old age pensioner and dont pay tax. The ATO has warned against this scam as well so beware and dont be taken in by these evil people.

I received a similar message, no name of who it was in relation to but advises it in relation to illegal back taxes, I work for the ATO, so know this call is a scam.

Caller states to be from ATO, left a threatening message that I was being taken to court to recover back taxes and if I did not return the call I would be liable for all court expenses.
