Telemarketers from this number are representing a solar power company called 'Aeronergy' although the pronunciation might lead you to think that the name is 'AIRE Energy' or 'Aero Energy' or some other variant brought about from the fact that this is an unusual to pronounce and a slightly confusing name for this industry.

You should not confuse this company with a company in America called 'Aero Energy'. Ref:- www.aeroenergy.com Notice the slight variation between 'aeroenergy' here and 'aeronergy' in the reference below.

The sales pitch is based around an assertion subsequently made by the floor manager 'Dosh', and, at time of writing, that to purchase 1 kilowatt of solar panel it would cost approx. $1700 to $1800 of which approx. $700 to $800 would be rebated by the government. Also, at time of writing, there some suggestions that this may not continue due to political points of view in Australia. There may also be an installation fee involved as part of the overall cost.

A typical residential premise would generally only consider four to five kilowatts of solar panels, which equates to approx. 16 panels measuring 1 meter by 1.65 meters, due to restrictions brought about by roof size, shape and orientation with respect to the sun. The preferred surface is the north facing slope for mounting solar panels. This is an optimistic interpretation and not all residence fall into this category. i.e.. some people have small houses and some people live in units were the roof may be part of body corporate.

As part of the process of engaging your attention the telemarketer makes a statement/question like :-
'How does a $4,000.00 rebate sound to you?'.

Shortly after this they may go on to state that a fully installed unit may cost $4,500.00 to you (after rebate from the government) and around this time they are likely to have asked you for your address so that they can conduct an assessment for your premise.

In my experience, the telemarketer is presenting the most optimistic of a range of possible outcomes as a question, that may be interpreted as a statement by the candidate, without having :-
• stated that this is one of a range of possible outcomes,
• stated that this subject to conditions of situational circumstances, and,
• having obtained permission and done an assessment of situational circumstances that are of significance to statement/questions made.

The telemarketer also stated that their brand of solar panel is a HT of tier 1 type. The web site indicates that Aeronergy is a distributor for HT-SAAE (Shanghai Aerospace Automobile Electromechanical Co Ltd) solar panels. However, the words tier 1 has no meaning for me nor was this defined by the telemarketer.

This telemarketer also stated that they had a requirement for 10% deposit and the remainder on installation.

My experience in this situation was that I initially contacted on my business phone number on the pretence that this telemarketer is representing a company that was looking for businesses to engage in solar technology. As most small businesses in Australia are engaged in a rent/lease arrangement for their place of work it is not likely that they in a position to engage solar technology as a business at their place of work. Once this fact of circumstance was communicated to the telemarketer and that I had indicated my place of residence is more likely to be a candidate for this technology the conversation went on to installing solar technology at my place of residence.

Over the last few years I had a number of telemarketers (from various phone numbers) contact me on the basis of :- An enquiry about businesses installing solar technology. What I am suggesting is that this scenario is a convenient ploy to engage in conversations which are not likely convert on the basis of the said enquiry whereas if the telemarketer where to attempt to contact a candidate on a residential phone on the basis of :- An enquiry about a resident installing solar technology, the telemarketer would be hampered by legal restrictions.

Solar energy company. These people are pushy to say the least. They keep ringing to "confirm our appointment" when none has been made. They take advantage of us being a business and several different people answering the phone and not really knowing how to direct the call to. I'm blocking their number and reporting them.
