It's the ACM group they are debt collectors. Call the number back and it clearly states it.

They should be fined big time

UPDATE: This number called again. It was a "MLC Life Insurance" Sales Call that was a "warm call" given they had sent a letter to me with brochures and had said in those papers that they would call up.

I politely conversed and when it came to their first question, "Is it OK for this call to be recorded for quality assurance purposes?" I said, "No it's not". The salesperson stuttered a litte then said, "Erm.. OK, I'm terribly sorry sir, I'm afraid I can't proceed any further then".

Done and dusted. Everybody was happy and not upset. :)

I just got a missed call from this number also. It rings several times then a message says "The number you have called is current switched off or unavailable. Please send a message or try again later". Don't have a clue who they are. A bit annoying given I had to play flag fall and probably was charged by my service provider to hear that recorded message!

Sykes are a customer contact management firm. The number is a generic number used to receive and make calls without providing the actual phone number of the caller. e.g. Tom wants to sell his bike but doesn't want to put his personal contact details online to avoid getting spammed. He puts 8061 3800 in the ad instead and provides a reference number #1234. When people interested in buying his bike call 8061 3800 and enter the ref. no. #1234 thay will be put through to Tom without having his personal number.

Of course the service can also be used by telesales that are trying to bypass any caller blocks instigated by the intended receiver.

If you have an iphone, just update the latest ios7. It has the capability to block unwanted numbers. You must add the unwanted numbers to your contact list. Call them something like 'unwanted' or 'telemarketers'. Then use the blocked feature to block these numbers. Your phone won't ring when they call. And you can't go wrong.

I just missed a call from this number - I got through to a message from some call centre and then it hung up but by the sounds of it they are telemarketers or something :( Not happy I thought it was an important call back I was waiting for :(

They keep calling me too, my work and mobile number, never leaving a message and they hang up on me whenever I answer!

This number has been calling me 3 times a bloody day every day for the past 2 weeks!! they never leave a message. ANNOYED!!!

I got a call from this number and when I answered they just hung up. I tried to find out who called by finding their number on the Internet and discovered that I was not the only one. It is ridiculous. Why call if they just hang up and how did they get my number?
