Somene asking for donations to Rural Fire Service. Said that I had donated before, which I hadn't.Beware of bogus fundraising or advertising requests

From RFA website:
As a general policy, the NSW RFS does not seek donations over the telephone. Any member collecting on behalf of the Service should be in full uniform and be able to readily identify themselves.
The NSW Rural Fire Service Association (RFSA), an independent and separate organisation which represents our volunteers and staff, does sell raffle tickets over the telephone as a fundraising initiative. These raffles are conducted through a telemarketing company and comply with the requirements of the NSW Department of Gaming and Racing. The operators are required to establish their bona fides and offer a return call number. The Association may also send out pledge letters but does not solicit donations.
Please contact the RFSA on (02) 4722 2122 or via their website for further information.
The NSW RFS encourages businesses to use caution when approached for donations or advertising. If you believe you have provided money or information to an organisation falsely representing the Service or its members, you should contact Police or the Department of Fair Trading. If you believe a magazine, advertising sales or fundraising call is not legitimate, contact SCAMwatch.

If you wait till the end of the recorded message they give a 1300 number you can call to be taken off the call list. I have logged a complaint with the RFSA about the company they have chosen to engage to conduct fundraising on their behalf.

I usually ask for the most expensive raffle ticket they have and ask to mail the form instead of paying over the phone.
Give a fake address and never pay.
They'll waste money sending reminder mails a few times before they give up.

NSW Rural Fire service looking for donations. I have told me to take them off their list at least 3 times as I no longer live in NSW but to no avail so I have blocked their number on my phone.

This number called at 5:30 am this morning. Wtf.
Locations came up in Coutts Crossing.
I am not okay with this, happy to be contacted for donations - but I believe calling clients at 5:30 am is not okay.
Was not happy.

They've been calling me once or twice a day. When I answer the call there is no response and they hang up after a few seconds.

definitely spam. pretends to be from "rural fire service" but they're not. the fire services are paid for and fully supported by our taxes and home insurance. not begging over the phone.

Getting many calls again from this crowd. We have got to a point that if we don't know the number we won't answer. We have also told them not to call back.

I've had a few of these so I just put the phone down in front of the TV and they quickly switch off.

I have had them call my home landline numerous times an I am sick of ripoffs , tele marketers , donation centers , sometimes I am extremely unwell and constantly receiving calls at all hours n the hang ups ! Rude an annoying this number requested donations for RFS ! I am registered with Do Not Call an apparently charities are allowed to call . No point reporting these numbers . A facebook page you can post bogus numbers or annoying numbers https://www.facebook.com/Dont-CALL-ME-975760605840850/

Fed Up!

I have asked them every single time they have called to take me off their list and not call me again. Two days go by (if I'm lucky) and they call again. This has been going on for 18 MONTHS! I have an unlisted number and am on the do not call register for a reason. But clearly charity beggars are allowed to still call. Does anyone know of a way to get them to actually stop calling? As I said I have been requesting they stop calling me for 18 months now - to no avail. Surely if I've specifically said to them to take me off their list and not call me again they should comply?

RFSA does a quarterly raffle, if you don't want to buy, just said sorry no this time and they won't call until the next raffle.
If you want to be remove from their list, you should ask for it. And I guess they would do.
If you want to help but don't want to pay by credit card, you can ask to pay by Bpay or in the postoffice, they will send you a letter or an email

Traced this back to (http://www.contactcentres.com.au/). Rural Fire Service Association is shown as one of their "not for profit customers". Perhaps to get around the DNC register? Persistent Pestiferating Parasites!
