Fraudulent scam call targeting vulnerable Australians. The Indian Government should crack down on the criminals in India that make these scam calls in an attempt to defraud Australians.

Same thing happened to me, this morning, .Hanged up the call and straight called back ATO, to see whats happening because I know I am clear. they were not aware of anything. Lodging a police complaint now.

ALERT SCAMM NUMBER. This is a Scammer number. They are stating that he is from ATO.they say police will come your home and catch u and keep detain.
then he offer to pay tax right now. He told me to go AUS POST and take LOAD AND GO DEBIT CARD.
then he ask all details about card and taken money.

i contact ATO and they are not doing this kind of call. ATO NEVER DO CALL
PLZ DO NOT PAY MONEY ON LOAD AND GO DEBIT CARD.

Got a missed call from this number and was unable to call back. Judging by the other replies here, I didn't miss out on anything. To note the date of my response and know they're still at it.

Didn't answer as phone had identified the number as potential spam. Number is now blocked on my phone

Unfortunately, these scammers are still active. I missed a call from them so entered their phone number on this site, which saved me the hassle of ringing the number back.

Got a call from this number yesterday and they were very intimidating and threatning..
Glad we didn't make the payment as it didn't sound right..

Australian govt needs to do soothing about this as it is targeting innocent people and a lot of these scamers are using websites like reverseaustralia to get numbers..

Folks, had a call from this number..are they only targeting people from Sub Continent?

This number is a scam. They will try to convince you that you have unpaid taxes. DO NOT EVER rely to this number and if they call you report it to the ATO and ACCC so they can crack down on scams like this.

ALERT SCAMM NUMBER...They call you and say calling from ATO give fake ids and warrant number and transfer call different people. AVOID this number and certainly they must call from India.

We are an tax agent. We have received a call from this number today. Same thing happened, telling us that we owe money to ATO. We have stopped conversation because we are 100% sure this is not a call from ATO.
