Today received a call from an asian-accented man calling himself "Alan Pell" who informed us that our internet would be disconnected for a month as there was inappropriate activity including other people using our connection. As with other comments, when we told him our internet wasn't even with Telstra he claimed that "all Australian internet is connected through Telstra".

I have just received the same call when I advised I would call back he gave me the number when I asked for the name of his supervisor he hung up. We called the number and it is the Australian Passport Service

We have also just received a call from an Indian-accented man calling himself "Jack Swagger" (lol) who informed us that our internet would be disconnected as there was "inappropriate activity" going on. He claimed he was from Sydney even though the number clearly showed up as an overseas call. When we told him our internet wasn't even with telstra he claimed that "all Australian internet is connected through telstra".

Same story. No computer linked to the internet on that particular phoneline, but an Indian man apparently called "Jack Swagger" from Telstra phoned to inform us that there were some problems regarding the legalities of our connection (fear tactics, perhaps?). Told him I would phone him back and asked for his contact details. He asked why. I told him him to check out if he was legit!

I have also had a call from this number from a nice young Indian man called Alex. It also was about the Telstra broadband which I don't have. Apparently I am in dire straits with lots of corrupted files being attracted to my computer. He also informed me that Optus was owned by Telstra - not that I'm with Optus either. Anyway got him to give me his phone number as it came up as being a private number.

Just had them call my mobile. very nice Indian man by the name of DAVID WOOD...yeah right!
Apparently the Telstra broadband (of which i do not have) has been getting maliciously hacked & spammed with spyware & he was willing to remotely jump on to my computer (which I also do not have) to fix it!
Im gullible, but not that much
