Caller: An Indian guy by the name of Nick Wilson

Called pretending to be from Amazon, saying someone from Kenya had used my card to purchase $250 gift card. Called back was advised to cancel, but needed to downloaded an app Teamviewer Quick Support. which I did (Stupid mistake) - then told him I needed to go home as I couldn't complete form without glasses. Googled number, realised it was a scam, deleted App, hopefully in time so they can't rip me off. Just on phone to bank now. Will be reporting to Police.

Caller: Scammer saying from ANZ

Received text message quoting a security code purportedly from ANZ for a requested transfer to Air BNB. Says to call this number if didn't request. has a ref number as well, which ANZ do not include. Beware - they do look legit to a degree. Definitely bogus!

Just got a call from an Indian sounding guy calling himself Adam Warscam. Again, same as others. Told me someone using my name bought an E Bay card for $250 and I needed to cancel it. At first I was panicked. Then I asked who his manager was, he said Patrick Wilson. I asked to speak to Patrick. He was busy. When I said I would wait, he hung up. Then I looked up the number. Thank you to all who put this warning out. Unfortunately he has my name and my phone number. Not sure what to do about that.

Caller: Scammer identifying as Amazon

I answered, but I got an automated message telling me $600+ was about to be debited from my account and to respond if I wanted to cancel. So I called back, got an Indian guy who told me he wasn’t at liberty to tell me who he was, then hung up.

An automated voice said that a $200 gift card was about to be purchased from Amazon using my account and that I should press one if I did not want this to happen. I just hung up and did not press one. This is clearly a scam.

Forgive my scepticism but you're very lucky to be the only one here who found this number to be real and received a refund, most likely for a purchase you didn't make.

Well done you!

Definitely a scam. They say they’re from Amazon and that your account was used by a John candle in Kenya to purchase a $250 eBay gift card. They want you to download Teamviewer which will give them access to your device.

Disgraceful.
