Caller: Scam impersonating CommBank

Scam text from CommBank official number requesting BPay transfer to a fake business "FM CARDS LTD". Gave this number to call urgently if I did not request this transfer. DEFINITELY a scam.

I called the number back, and a foreign male voice answered very promptly with 'Australian Taxation Office, How can I help you?'
This is not the way the ATO normally answers calls. There is usually a menu and options to deal with before you get through to anyone, along with various self help options.

A recording saying that I had to call another number because I had committed a crime ... or something. BLOCK.

The left a strange message (converted to text) so I called the number back. A machine answered saying they were The Australian Tax Office in a non-australian accent. From another site I looked up I think this is likely to be a scammer.

Scam. False tax threats.

Scam! Saying was from ATO and had arrest warrant out. Wanted to enter payment plan. Sounds so official and real don’t believe it! I almost did until I spoke to accountant while on other line and they confirmed! Reported to ATO/Police

They left a voice message talking about unpaid taxes. Confirmed scam as they threatened warrant for arrest

Left voicemail stating paperwork centre address registered has returned unsigned and undelivered so a petition needs to get filed. Makes absolutely no sense.
