This is a scam number claiming to be the Australian Tax Office

Total SCAM ! Do not let these arseholes scare you. They are NOT the ATO. They are dishonest scammers. DO NOT transfer money into their BankWest account (like I did). I HAVE REPORTED THEM TO THE REAL ATO.

Scam caller claiming my tax number would be withheld and that I'd be arrested

Scam call purporting to be the ato. Threatens to seize tax file number. Reported it to the real ATO.

Caller: Scammer

Pretending to be from the Australian Tax Office. Recorded message saying you're about to be arrested and your tax file number suspended. Supposed to call them back on the same number to make arrangements.

Caller: A male with a foreign accent saying from ATO

I asked again what Dept it is n the guy said ato. He asked for my name n I gave him my first name . He then asked for my tax file number n without hesitation I told him this must be a scam n I cancelled the line.
