Caller: I don't know until I read this page (Mr P. Suwannagoot of Port Macquarie). This guy is trying to claim he is from the Tax Office.

The number (02) 6584 7906 was sent to me on my mobile. Initially quiet when I said "Hello". Thinking that perhaps the person did not hear me, I asked "How can I help you?" Immediately it went into a recorded message claiming I owe money to the Tax Office and should contact a representative ASAP or else I would be "arrested immediately" by the police. The person wanted me to press 1 to talk to someone. I didn't saying or do anything. I wrote down the number for me to check online. Also checked MyGov web site and noticed no problems from the Tax Office. Funny thing is, I am well organised, I know my financial situation, I already handed in my Tax form, and I am expected to receive a refund (calculated by the Tax Office to within $20 difference when I got the tax return). I know I have nothing to owe to the Tax Office. Either the person has got the wrong taxpayer, or I am certain it is a scam. This was followed by a call from Washington D.C within two minutes +1 202 455 8888. Not sure the connection (I am finding out), but it seems too much of a coincidence. Just another entertaining night of "Who's the scammer?"

Caller: Scam NBN phone call

Recorded message saying the NBN will be cut off and to press one to speak to a technician, just the usual scam crap.
