Caller: ‘Department of Home Affairs’

Would-be scammer’s number showed up as a Canberra number, and a computer voice informed me that a warrant is out for my arrest, and that my identity has been used for fraud. Contacted Crime Stoppers, who are aware of the scam. I tried to contact ‘Scamwatch’ Australia, but had issues with the ‘phone number.

Unsure of how the scam is supposed to progress, as I hung up half-way through the voice-mail. Presumably, they want your account details, name, address, etc.
