Caller: ATO Scam

Indian call centre scam claiming to be from the ATO and threatening to arrest me. Wanted lots of personal info so I made stuff up and they continued to tell me they know where I live and they’re sending authorities to arrest me today for tax fraud that had been reported via some kind of tip-off line. Wanted money paid via western union hahaha
When I refused, the caller said “oh shut up you c**t” and then hung up.

Didn't answer but the phone has identified it as potential fraud number. No message left. Given all the other comments left here, believe this is a scam number.

Received a call with a pee recorded message claiming to be the ATO. Was on the phone to them whilst also clarifying with ATO and filing a scam report. When i hung i up i was called back from a private number and yelled at for terminating the call with legal action threatened.

DO NOT CALL BACK OR ENGAGE

Same here, answered call, voice message claims to be ATO and a huge tax debt under my name, scam.

I was called at 1:48pm by (02) 6216 1111, I didn’t answer but from research it’s also known as an Ato scam.

I was then called at 4:00pm by (02) 6216 8600, again I didn’t answer and then they called me again five times in a row at 5:30pm.

Sick of them calling me and making me feel like I’m special and someone actually loves me, only to see its them again.

Have received four calls in two days from this number....have not answered as assumed it was bogus.

Automated voice ato threatening legal action. I tried to call back no answer. Bl9cked number

Automated message using fear of arrest by the ATO. Surely these can be stopped. Called to my mobile and I have now blocked the caller number after repeated calls.

Hung up when I answered. Tried to phone back and got engaged signal

It feels, smells and makes noises like a scam

I also had 2 call from this number threaten to fine or arrest me if if didn’t respond. I have now blocked it.

Automated message saying I would be arrested and to dial 1!!!

Said it was A.T.O. called A.T.O but they didn't recognize number, however it is on their website. Worried it might be legit

Same as other complainants.. threatening all sorts via an automated (Englishman's voice). This is the second call in 2 days. The first from another number (02) 0621 6507 with exactly the same message. Agghhhh!
