Caller: Recorded voice saying "...there has been Tax Fraud using your number..."

A recorder American Voice saying there has been fraud on my Tax Number.

Hung up and blocked number

Automated ATO Scam do not call back.

Claimed to be from ATO and also claimed that my tax file number had been used in fraudulent activity. American voice message used. I did not respond to their "advice" to press 1 for more information and ended the call.

3 calls in 3 days from these A$@eholes saying they are calling from the tax office in Canberra and there has been fraud of which my name is being used.

Upon answering, received a recorded message about my TFN being fraudulently used. When pressed 1 and asked the man who answered questions, he started changing his accent, first it was american and then it became very fake australian. This is a SCAM, do not answer and block the number!

Called and informed Tax file number has issues and suspended. To press 1 to speak to someone. Did not press 1 and hang up.

Did not answer the call. Phone indicated potential fraud number.

Phone call comes with a recorded message saying there's fraudulent activity. If you press '1' you talk to a male. I said 'this sounds like a scam' and the guy said 'well, f*ck off then'

Said they were ATO Tax Investigations Office (OOOOOh I'm so scared). I told them to take their stupid con job and F. O.

I answer the call and they claim to be from ATO department, so i press 1 and they address themselve as ATO department. I then tell them it's spam and they quickly hangup.

Apparently fraudulent activity with my TFN. When I hit "1" as prompted (knew it was a scammer) I was asked to give my name so they could help me. When I suggested you should know it as you called me he hung up. 2nd one of these in 3 months....apparently the Feds employee lots of people with Southern African accents???? Came through a redirected ACT number....agree, why can't we prevent these scammers from using our numbers???
