Fake scam caller. deleted the number immediately.

Scam still using the same number.

Received an incoming call this morning. I did not answer as did not recognise the number. Will not call back, thanks to this website, 2 thumbs up! Have blocked and reported.

Received a phone call today at 12:09pm from this number 0446 764 992 recording message saying it is the Department of Home Affairs and that I am being investigated for tax violation and that there is a warrant out for my arrest. Press 1 to talk to someone for more information. So me being the naive person I pressed 1 and a male voice came on the line but I noticed there was alot of background noise and his accent wasn't clear. He asked for my details and that's when i started to become suspicious and turned the table and asked for all his details. He sounded surprised and hesitant but I continued to ask and here are the details he provided: Name: David Woods. Company: Criminal Investigation Division Taxation Department of Australia. Contact No: (02) 6216 1111. Thank goodness for searching the number as you all have confirmed it is a scam! I just hope the police will find and catch these $#%%^ because there are many vulnerable especially our elderly people who may fall into their trap :(.

Got a call from (02) 6216 1111 this morning. The caller ID said "Tax Personal Info Line, (ATO)". Immediately hang up (likely a call to check if your number is live). Checked in Google, found this website, and was about to block the caller from future calls, then realized that this number is also the actual number of the ATO see https://www.ato.gov.au/About-ATO/Contact-us/?=Redirected_URL and that the reason it has shown the caller ID is because this number was in my contact list already as a genuine number. I guess I can still block the incoming calls from that number but am not sure as they may call from that actual number. I did end blocking it as it seems unlikely I would get a call from that number. I pray for the people who do this that they may change their ways. Amen.

Received call from this number claiming to be Federal Officer Samuel Cardosa Badge Number: 417J67. Have to say he was quite convincing for a while saying I had committed tax evasion. Ended up working it out after a while and hung up. Called the police station (as he said there was a warrant out for my arrest) and they told me it was a scam. He called me back and I answered and he asked why I hung up on him. I told him I had called the police station and he hung up.

Same as previously reported that you need to press 1 to talk to an officer from the ATO. A warrant has been issued yada yada yada.
The Scammers are back at it again. Do not ring back. Do not answer if it shows on your phone. Mobile /android phones may have a function to deny those numbers, use it, and block them.Note: ATO will either get the warrant and using the police system come knock on your door and serve it or alternatively send you an official letter with all your particulars, if not both options.Never a phone call.

I can't believe I fell for it. When they told be they were in India, I just hung up. They called me back. Idiots, they won't get me a second time. I hope!

Scam ATO call from both (02) 6216 1133 and (02) 6216 1193 - both times voice recording stating they have had an informant disclose my details and i need to speak to the ATO to avoid penalties and arrest.

I just received two consecutive calls from this number. It was an automated message advising that I breached some tax laws and would be arrested, with it being my final warning; I was then advised to press '1' to speak to the operator at which time I hung up. Call BLOCKED! I also received the same call from (02) 6216 1120 a couple of days ago!

Another ATO scam. Two attempted calls within the last hour, plus one from another number on Monday.

Male voice purporting to be from ATO and that I had income tax violoation reported via an informant program, and if I did not respond by pressing '1' to contact someone from the ATO I would be penalised and/or arrested, d*ckhead doesn't realise I'm a retiree and now longer submit anything to the ATO, just like the box head who says he's contacting me regarding an accident I've had, don't look up their stats too well, haven't had an accident in 50 years, there must be some poor saps who get caught though, wish we could stop these calls :(

Didn't answer the number because I didn't know it. Searched online, found it here. Number now added to reject list.
