This number came up on my mobile listed as Canberra. When I answered it an Australian accented male automated voice came on and said something like 'This is the Australian Tax Office. You have been reported to the anonymous reporting line to the Australian Taxation Department for fraudulent taxation activities. Please hold and one of our operators will be with you shortly' Of course I was gobsmacked and waited while classical music played thinking it was the tax dept who had been given wrong information. The whole thing seemed believable except I had a sneaky suspicion as I have no problems with the tax department. Anyway I held and very quickly a voice came on that spoke with an Indian accent - "Hello this is (and said a name) could I have your full name and tax file number? But before I go any further I need to infomr you that this call is being recorded blah blah blah...' as per normal with lots of businesses and govt departments. But something made me question this - something in my gut was telling me it was wrong. So I refused to give him my number unless he told me who he was and whether he could verify his identity. He then paused and said F..k F..k about 5 times as though he had messed up and made a mistake - and then he started saying really aggressively sexual statements. I was in shock and asked my co-worker to listen and we stopped talking and just let him go on. It would have been funny in any other context but it was actually quite scary. I have blocked the number and reported it.
