Sydney NSW - Call received today (calling number ID not captured) with a similar premise to calls already reported. Caller was Female, est 20-25 y.o, with a subdued but recognisable Kiwi accent, claiming to be from the "Australian Assistance Project" - a public information service for an under-utilised ATO initiative dating back to the 1980's (specifically mentioned the 'Keating era'), offering Tax Benefit/Incentives/Reductions for "higher income earning home owners, aged 59 years or under". I told her that, as a disability pensioner, I did not meet those criteria, but I had several friends within those parameters who would be interested. She asked for their phone numbers (despite also claiming they were contacting ALL mobile and landline phones in Australia), but I refused to provide details, telling her I could much more quickly give my friends with a direct link to the online form she claimed had to be completed on on the ATO website. She then claimed there were many variations of the form applicable to different and highly specific circumstances (mentioning various numbered sub-sections of s.12 and s.15 of the Tax Act, without naming any). When I provided specific age, income and home owner status details for a hypothetical "friend", she still refused to provide a URL to the "online form" based on the criteria she had originally requested to determine eligibility, and then attempted to terminate the call, claiming I was clearly not interested. I kept her on the line a little longer, insisting that I was interested, and wanted to pass on the "information" she claimed she was employed to disseminate, but she refused. Damned strange behaviour for an "information service", don't you think? THIS IS A SCAM, PHISHING FOR PERSONAL DETAILS. DON'T BE FOOLED!!

Obvious scammer, claiming to be calling on behalf of ATO and that urgent attention is required in relation to a lawsuit. Message advised to call back (or have attorney call back) to settle this supposed legal matter.

Supposedly from ATO. Said they had visited my house twice & left warrants for my arrest for not paying my tax correctly for last 6 years. After a very long phone conversation they told me I would be arrested in 2 hours & they would come to my house to take contents to value I "owed" ATO + all my bank accs & assets would be frozen & I would have a criminal record. Please can something be done about them.

Rockbet Casino nuisance call - they send a text when you dont answer and also leave an automated voicemail. Have a number of missed calls from the same number over past few days. Will be blocking.

Now it's an automated call from "Rocketbet". I think they are online gambling. When you don't answer it will go to voicemail and then they will send you a text.

A man called claiming to be from the ATO saying I hadn't paid tax for the past couple of years and I would have to go to court.

They left a message which was obviously a pre-recorded message because it started well before the beep on my answering machine so I didn't get the start.
The end however was urging me to call, or my lawyer, because legal action was about to commence.
I didn't bother to return their call as this is obviously a scam.
