Message left on my answering machine....Commonwealth Dept of Public Prosecutions regarding Tax Office...my home is being monitored and there is a warrant out for my arrest due to unpaid taxes.....clearly a scam.

Yeah, I had two voicemails left within 20 mins of each other, guy with a foreign accent threatening a criminal case and legal proceedings for tax evasion and fraud if we don't pay money. What a crock!! I definitely smell something fishy here. Does not match any ATO numbers

My Grandmother had the same call a couple of days ago - threatening prosecution etc. The DPP don't call people they are prosecuting - the police do, whether federally or locally. Clearly a scam!

Same message say we Had a criminal case for tax evasion/fraud made against us and to call the number in a timely manner. Indian guy with no name left the msg on machine then just the number to call back then wished us a good day and hung up!

yes i get the same to day threatening legal action against me . Don't be fooled buy this scam. I would loved to catch up to this women who did not leave her name .

Just got home from a busy day at the office and yes we have a message on the answering machine - we have a case against us for tax fraud please ring this number. Well that is just amazing considering the work that I do - just a scam!!!!

Same as all above. When I gave them my phone number they said they had no info us. Do they really think we're stupid enough to be scared by their false threats? The real ATO would always send snail mail first.

I just received a call from these guys. An Indian sounding man called 'Matty Johns' lol. I gave them a fake name and phone number and they proceeded to tell me that I had a warrant out for my arrest for tax evasion/fraud. I let him go on for a while before informing him that I had given hima fake name and number. There was silence from his end then he hung up on me. Guess the scammers don't like being scammed!!!

Yes, and you would not believe the length these people would go to. I chatted for quite a while to see if I could get an account number!! Nope they want cash transfer to western Union account. Annoyed that there is no interest from Australian authorities to bother to track down the australian phone number being used.

Got a new phone number after my dad passed away to get rid of unwanted calls and then this happens!! Scam!! Get a real job!! Indian voice.

I guess the previous scam calls supposedly from the tax office have stopped paying off.
