Mum got a call today, saying she owed thousands, and all that jazz. Best thing about it is, mum has severe anxiety, so thanks for the anxiety attack.

yep defiantly A SCAM! they didn't make any sense.

This is a major scam - you cannot have legal charges against you by the ATO unless you have been audited and the have detected fraud, in which case, you would have had lots of letters and also a visit from them.

They are just trying to get you to either send them money via Western Union or other mob or to get your credit card details to rip you off.

I received call from this number saying this they are calling from taxation office and i have to call back them as i have some legal charges on me. so please call back. when i call back no one take my call.

I received a call. The man said he is from Australian tax office investigating tax fraud from 2008 to 2014. I have never been in Australia before end of 2012.
