Two automated measages alegedly from ATO to call back before they prosecute, american accent, warning not to dismiss the call!

Scammers trying to intimidate people. Nearly had me worried, but thankfully I always check this website for information first, thank you everyone for sharing and helping.

Just got this call. Fortunately, I was on another call so missed it. Have had dealings with these types before - such scum!! So grateful to everyone who contributes to this site, great warnings and details!!

Same guy, it's just one person who says as above, you'll be arrested within 2 hours etc but..he'll put you through to his supervisor and maybe he can help you. The supervisor you get put through to is also him with a different name BUT THE SAME GUY SPEAKING every time I called. He offered to let me off if I put $7000 must be cash into a Western Union Money transfer account...he refused to give me the account number and told me to start driving to the Western Union office and he will give me the bank account details when I reach the car park and I had to stay with him on the line until I made the payment. This guy should punish by police. Then he understands .
People who gets call from this number be careful.. He will ask you to transfer money to personal account... For ATO penalty .. What rubbish?

Same call from Nicki Johnson today. Have people got nothing better to do!!!!!!!!!!

Got a call today asking for the wrong name and when I asked who was calling they hung up. Then got an Automated message from Nicki Johnson from the Australian Tax Office, saying time sensitive and so on. All from this number. SCAM

Received the same message as others from Nicki Johnstone called the number and they hang up each time

I got the same phone message on my landline (listed in the White Pages) and rang the number. He started going on about serious criminal charges pending against me and blah, blah, blah. I let him go on a bit and listened to his BS then asked him what my Tax File Number was and guess what - he hung up!

They're on a roll. Automated message from Nicky Johnston "Australia Taxation Office". What a crock - aint falling for that crap!!

These scammers left an automated message. The message started like it was in the middle of the dialogue and it sounded pieced together computer generated. Was told not to discard message and to return call. They threatened me with legal action or something like that. At the end she said take care and the tone of voice was different you could tell it was a scam. Called the tax office and they said they get complaints about this sort of thing often. They logged it and handled it very professionally. It's a hoax trying to scare people.

Phone call as above. Message left for me. Didn't call back

Same thing just with me, said I was being taken to court for tax fraud and I could settle this by paying now. idiots!!

They called me today with the same ato thing. Called ATO to confirm and they said they didn't called me and it's a scam and took all the details I had of them. In case they call you here is what i got

This is a scam caller.. They first ring your number to make sure it's an active line.. When you pick up the call, they hang up within a couple of seconds.. You'll then start receiving faked automated messages asking you to call back about a tax fraud issue.. DO NOT CALL BACK! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR NAME OR TAX FILE NUMBER!

State form the ATO and suggested that I was under investigation for Tax fraud and the police were coming to arrest me, when asked to confirm his identifity, he became aggressive and hung up.
