received message same as above - total rubbish. Indian call center couldn't answer my questions about why they call when I refused to give my name. then just said ok please don't call again. ?!!

Got the same Jason O'Conner with a warrant for my arrest due to tax evasion. Sounded suss so didn't call.

My dad just called to say he has just received a call from Jason O'Connor claiming to be from ATO. Same story as above. Had my dad worried as he is a pensioner and not sure what to do. I tried to call number but no answer. Googled the number and found this page. Definitely a SCAM and I'll be calling ATO tomorrow.

As above Scammer claiming to be from ATO and sending Police to have me arrested. Doesn't he know what The Bible says about liars and thieves!! Oh, I think we've all been there!

Message left on our answering machine claim to be Jason O'Connor calling from the Australian Taxation Office concerning a tax evasion lawsuit & warning of an impending warrant for my arrest & asked that we kindly call back on (02) 6140 3490. This is a scam.

Guranteed Scam I played along pissed them off.

These Guys became abusive in Hindi then Punjabi.

Sorry to say this is an Idan ATO Scam.

I would advise everyone to call them and waste their time, so they do not scam an innocent person

Came back from holidays and found message from Jason O'Connor. Sent me into a spin but husband thought accent weird and number same. Has anyone told the ATO?

Colleague ate work just now was scammed by the same people. Advised to call and did (02) 6140 3490, Reportedly an ATO official however when colleague asked for them to supply his TFN they couldn't. He spend an hour on the phone.

Same, same. I wonder if they get something out of the people who call the number back??? You'd be crazy to believe it.

Looks like the scammers are trying Sydney, now. Same message, same Jason O'Connor. Obviously no idea that name does not match with a thick Subcontinental or MIddle Eastern accent (hard to tell on answer machine). Obviously hopes people don't understand Australia processes for notification of serious criminal matters.

I had the exact same call today from a private number. Someone with and Indian? accent left a message that they were from the ATO regarding a tax evasion charge, and to call (02) 6140 34490 before the police arrived with a warrant for my arrest. I called a friend who is a policeman and of course it's a scam, generated through the internet. Number can't be traced.

Same happened to me on 19 June 2015. My accountant googled the number and we found all these comments. SCAM !!!

called my home number, claimed to be from ATO and that police officers coming to issue me warrant of arrest due to compilation of tax evasions. Left a number to call them as they are able to help before i submit myself to police. Firstly, i know that i pay my tax, so evasion is a lot of b..s.. Out of curiosity i called the number from a private number and he picked up and hung up immediately. Accent is either from India or Middle East.
