Hit with same crap on the north side of Brisvegas today. Worst forced accent I had ever heard. Used words such as 'Attorney' (we used Solicitor/lawyer or barrister) and note that the call was never directed to any one party or person. Obviously they are doing the rounds AGAIN. Be warned.

Got same call as Neale above. Purportedly from ATO stating in an accent that I'm subject to tax evasion and tax fraud investigation and if I don't call (02) 6140 3463 that the police will have a warrant in my name. Caller did not ask for a particular person, gave no name as identification. Definitely appears to be some sort of SCAM. I did not call number as have heard some scams are to reroute international call charges to your account. Not sure if this is one but was not willing to risk.

Had a call supposedly from the ATO as about tax fraud as well same as the storey above from Neale sounds like a scam and I didn't call the number back.

In brisbane. Received the same type of generic message about tax evasion. Did not call back. Sounded like a dodgy fake Aussie accent.

Got a message today supposedly from the ATO stating in a filipino accent that I'm subject to tax evasion and tax fraud investigation and if I don't call (02) 6140 3463 that the police will have a warrant in my name. Called the number to see what response I got. It sounded like it was diverted to some place where the ring tone was american or overseas somewhere. Same womans voice came on line and I said who are you really? Got hung up on. It was after 5pm so out of working hours for our trusty money-grabbing ATO. SCAM SCAM SCAM
