Reported this to the ATO, who took all the details I collected from 'ATO Agent David Smith'. Their Switchboard Phone number is 13 28 69 from 8am–5pm, Mon–Fri (local time) except national public holidays.They are collecting reports to deal with these idiots.

I 'Reversed Australia' to find all these Comments posted, so I too, rung them back this time and recorded our conversations. Hilarious are their responses. I warned them what I was doing and I received so many Hang-ups, ringing out and "Don't call me back, OK" (Hang Up) ! LOL !

Very helpful, they were. It is scam that has been going for a long time. I am keen to develop policy around this to block them. The lady recorded the facts I had gathered from "ATO Agent David Smith in Canberra", who speaks with an Indian accent. PLEASE ring them yourselves. If more and more people put in reports the sooner their systems can deal with them.

Caller advised she was from ATO with warrant for my arrest. I advised her fraudulent caller and she hung up. 10 minutes later I received computerised phone message stating it was serious and to call the number back which I don't intent to do. It's quite scary to receive these phone calls. SCAM

Received pre recorded message @ 8:52. The message is very threatening & typical of these scum bags. Our telecommunication watchdog & pathetic laws in this country allow these & others like them to continue.

left computer generated voice message on my parents phone, called number back and scared my mother with threats of ATO Law Suit. Worried her so much as she is recovering from having a stroke and is almost 80. We should all call them back and tell them to get f@#$.

Reported this to ATO - no follow up. Had several calls from this number and then an Indian call centre claiming to be the ATO.

Claiming to be from ATO, going to report and send police to arrest us if we didnt pay money due to a law suit from the ATO. Call terrified my mother, very scary.

P.S. 10hrs later....still no police! LOL!
