Didn’t answer and blocked straight away as I knew it was a scam number. Just a heads up that who ever they are, are calling again. I’m based in NZ

Tried to call me several times the minute I heard him speaking I immediately thought scam when he started talking legal action I'm in new Zealand never even been to Australia so would never have any legal action against me there

Same message, Jimmy Faulkner ( or Author - difficult to follow). American or Irish accent. Said There was a law suit against me from ATO and he was from CDPP. I need to call him back on (02) 6140 3419 with my "attorney" - that was a dead give away.

They are still making the calls, leaving a message on our answering machine will ring the ATO to notify them. He is going by the name Jimmy (faulkner) it wasn't pronounced clearly

Got one today stating name of Mike Davis of ATO in what sounded like a South African or Zimbabwe accent regarding tax matter and to ring back on (02) 6100 3838, wanker didn't even have my name just said the "occupier of the address" lol

just got a message left on my landline phone-Mike Davis of ATO?????something about a Tax Audit and wanted me to call (02) 6172 1101....was skeptical and having read this trail, it's confirmed scam!...swift justice for these no good type of people!

These guys also use the phone numbers (02) 6152 8675 and (02) 6152 8656. They change numbers regularly to avoid police detection

My bloke John Matthews had a harsh American accent, same fast speaking, not clear in parts but intentionally threatening in tone. Desperados. Glad you all saw it for the scam it is; hope everyone else does too.

These bastards just tried to scam me. Spoke to 3 different people. One was by the name of John Matthews (strong Irish accent), Officer David Marshall (strong Indian accent) and Kevin John Martin (strong Indian accent). I have reported them to the actual CDPP in Perth, who told me they have been receiving a few calls regarding this. Won't be long til the AFP kick their door down.

Just got the same call. We had a very heated discussion where he was quite threatening. Then he said I'm getting your case file up and hung up. Googled this number and rang a contact in the tax office. SCAM

Just had a phone call and similar incident. have reported it to the police, as they must be targeting older population!! ITS A FRAUD!!

I an deaf and have difficulty with phone calls (I am 85 ) my grandson checked to see who was calling me and threatening a law suit. I was pleased to see others have received the same call. It looks as of they are targeting oldies ... I have asked to have a stop put on unsolicited calls but why can't telecom do something about it?

same message regarding a law suit by the ATO. I rang back as my mother couldnt understand his accent and as above said he spoke too fast but she did give me their number and the name John Mathews.
I rang this morning 26.5.15 and a so-called ATO officer by the name of Mike Davis, he had an indian accent, answered so I gave him my mothers name and the info that was left on her answering machine. He said the ATO had a law suit against her for not paying tax!!!! She is 84 years old and hasn't worked since she was 55 and never owed tax so she knew this was a scam. One of my colleagues googled the ph number and we came up with this site. SHAME ON THESE PEOPLE!!!!!

I copped two of these messages on my answering machine, stating that there is a Financial Tax Fraud against me and the Law Society will be contacting me in relation to an ADO matter. He happily goes by the name of Shaun Matthews. The phone number is (02) 6140 3419. I actually returned the call, did not provide my number, which he insisted I need to give him and did not confirm my name or any details. In the background it is clear, that he is operating from a call centre. Wonder if this ass hole, would like a personal visit from the Fraud Squad or the Australian Taxation Office themselves. The best KARMA is he will get caught.

That was three weeks ago. Never heard from them since.
But the call felt quite threatening. Made my mother worried. So f*ck you Mr John
