He said”I’m officer for ATO and you have to pay 12500 to ATO”
When I spoke to them they interrupted the conversation

I got a call from this number. i gave them a call back and they asked for my name to look up the file. the guy told me after an audit the ATO revealed a miss calculation of $3750 in my file. he even read out a whole message saying the case has been forwarded to the Court and Federal Police. I was very scared. my lack of knowledge about scam nearly put me into a loss of $3750. i provided my accountant number to them and I event got a call from the number I provided, telling me that my accountant wasnt available so another accountant talked to me ( dont know how they could do this). the accountant asked me to call "ATO " back and offer the payment in order to cancel the arrest warrant and told me it wasnt my fault and the accountant will pay me back the money next week. So i called the ATO guy and he asked me to go to the nearest Woolworth store to purchase that much account of Google Play voucher so they could cancel the arrest warrant. he didnt let me hang up the phone because he said it could have something to do with the call being recorded. so I got changed. and during that time, I looked up for ATO phone number. This number wasnt shown on ATO website and instead it took me to this site. I am very thankful that I saw your posts guys.

Called me say a arrest warrant have been issued against me by police because of ATO. I called ATO and reported the scammer and the phone number (02) 6100 8394.

Got the same automated voice message - very disturbing!! I looked up the number and realized it was a scam so just ended up blocking the number.

Same robotic voice as the rest and insisting that i call back or will face a lawsuit, the ATO need to jump on this as it is rather menacing and something that you think the ATO might try.

Exactly the same Scam happened to me this morning at 11:35. When I called back the number it was a woman who answered. She was talking in a very poor English, which made me suspicious and I started asking questions then she got scared and did hang up. However, I have reported the Scam and have given her number to the authorities.

Automated voice of a man with a Chinese accent saying a case has been filed against me. I hung up, redialled the number to verify and and Indian accented lady answered. I could hear background chatter of call centre. She mumbled something about ATO investigations unit, asked for my name and postcode. I said I'll ring up ATO 1800 008 540) instead and hung up. Reported to ATO.

Missed call with voice mail, threatening to have me arrested if I did not call them back.

Ask me to pay $2500 for tax via google play!

Same message as everyone else! Automated voice advising there will be a warrant for my arrest if I do not call back. However I know it is a 100% scam.
