ATO tax scam. Left a message just after I registered an abn so wonder if they're tracking people that way. Double checked with the actual ATO. Definitely bogus

Appears to be a scam focused around the ATO

Another ATO scam number, computerised American-accented voice about my tax fraud, need to contact lawyer. I called the number & was greeted by a person who clearly doesn't speak English as their first language (neither do I, mind you). When I refused to provide my mobile number & questioned where they're based, he got upset and said he would send the police to arrest me, that I'd have to say what I want to say in court. I told him that I actually work in the courts, he hung up. I called ATO and reported this incident. If they're aware of this since June, how is it that it's still happening?

Claiming to the the Australian Taxation office. I had a message left, I returned the call to have some 'hello can i help you' informality. Company name he then told me was not of any taxation office and refused/got frustrated when I asked him to spell the company name. Oh, and he hung up on me... Good luck fella!

Then when I said it was scam abused me swore at me, lol

A scam number purportedly from the ATO.

They left a 'threatening legal action message' on the machine but the voice was of a robot. I don't have any debts so it was strange to receive this and it smells like a scam to me.

This person is a fraudster saying that they have "important information about your tax fraud you have committed" and asking you to call them back and give them your own personal tax details. SCAMMER ALERT!
