I too had message left on my phone that said a registered letter had tried to be delivered to me unsuccessfully and that there would be a warrant issued for my arrest and then they mentioned the ATO. As I have a credit balance with the ATO this is definitely a scam. But still distressing to hear about a warrant being issued! As this number is a land line number why can't they be traced and prosecuted for misrepresentation and falsely claimed to be the ATO??? Its a disgrace.

Just had a call saying I have defrauded the ATO and there is a warrant being issued for my arrest, I am going to jail for 5 years, will have to pay a fine in excess of $105,000 due to deliberately defrauding ATO etc but if I pay an amount of $1,600.42 and deal with the matter confidentially then the warrant will be suspended etc.................SCAM!!!!!!

Just had a call from this number which was a recording, said that I had not completed my tax properly or signed it, and that warrants were out for my arrest!!! Rather soul destroying when you are a law abiding citizen and always try to do the right thing. I could get the number down quick enough but it was there on my phone, so I called back to be answered by a non native Australian born, and I told him that I'd just received the call and when he asked for my full name I hang up. It's a scam!!!

Left message saying they were the crime commission and I had several legal misdemeanours to answer. Advised me to call immediately I got the message. Definitely another nasty scam to be aware of

I just got a call from an automated john smith also rather threatening
