We are on the 'Do Not Call' register..how do they get the number??

Same as Patrick - Definite scam, rambling message, does not identify where they are calling from, according to their records no tax has been paid from this address, call your lawyer or call back on this number. Don't waste anytime calling back just ignore.

I had the same thing happen today. I screen grabbed the call on my iPhone. The phone call came from the same number they tell you to call. Definitely a scam. They said that its from the tax office (they never mention the ato) and they have tried every avenue to contact me (no mention of my name) and they have a warrant out because I have filed incorrect tax files.

It's not how taxes are handled in Australia so it's such a scam.

Had a call from this number and the same as the other comments tax avoidance etc..they must think we are idiots..SCAN

Why can't the legal authorities do something about this. It is most upsetting

My mother had a message on her answer service today the same. It mentioned her number is on the blocked international callers register. The initial part of the message was difficult to understand. The gist of the message was that there was a warrant out for her arrest. I tried calling the number back with my number blocked and only received the engaged signal. Obviously a scam.

Rattled off a similar per-recorded message that Col received. Tried to call back with my number blocked. No answer. What a surprise..!

recorded message - didn't hear the initial part and who was calling and whether it was for me or my business but the rest of the rambling message mentioned something about tax avoidance and that a warrant has been issued for my arrest & that I need to ring this number back.
