Had a message saying I was wanted for tax evasion and that I have a warrant out for my arrest, and for my lawyer to ring back on this number to discuss further. I rang the number from a pay phone and got a recorded message "the number you have called is not in service." I'm sure this is a scam. Have reported to ScamWatch.

Have had this phone call this morning, I get a deal from "ATO" the "taxation officer" told me that I fraud the ATO by $95K and I will be arrested and I should get a lawyer , But I have option 2 as well to pay $5504.00 / interesting the last $4/ and the case will be closed, after when I informed the "taxation officer" that I am recording this conversation - click . The quality of the phone call was very bad .

As with other comments, received a call on my answering machine from the "ATO" on June 9th, 2016 with the statement that a warrant had been issued for my arrest for tax evasion. Caller suggested I contact a lawyer and left a call back number. Nice of them to leave a number so I could call them back and harass them in the same manner for a few days. Low life scum.

I got the same call and recorded message. I am worried it cost me allot of money to listen to.. Next time I will hang up straight away..

I got a call from ATO Fraud Investigation, the guy has European accent and said that if the matter is not resolved on the phone, then I will need to face the court the next day. I said tomorrow is Saturday. He paused for good 10 seconds and asked my income and bank details. When I refused to give any info, he asked me to get my lawyer ready. I started screaming on the phone, swearing as well. He got upset and said he will personally make sure things go wrong for me. I apologised and said that I should not swear as I was in my office. he asked where I am working now, I said Victoria Police and he hung up.

Same here I get 23 calls per week same crap as everybody else. I think they should be reported as terrorists as they are not Australian voices. Trying to extort everyday Aussies. No wonder I am beginning to dislike people from overseas.

Same message as everyone else. I called them from work and had a bit of fun with them. They answered with "Taxation Office", so I queried which one. The person said the NSW Headquarter. I then said I was confused as I thought the Taxation Office was a Federal organisation. I assured the person who answered, that I was eager to provide my details over the phone as I did not want to be arrested for tax evasion, but I had heard there were people out there scamming innocent victims........"CLICK". Wonder why he hung up?

This happened to me this morning.

Got a call from this number about some bullsh#t tax evasion. It's nonsense. It's a scam.

Have had the same message and I called back and told them what I thought of them. low life scumm.

This caller rang me this morning on (02) 6064 2036 and told me I had a serious fraud and tax evasion file registered against me. He had an extremely weird sort of accent as well and ended the conversation with all sorts of threats and then finally his last sentence was 'Have a blessed day'.
What an absolute nutter !!!

Ive had 4 of these Tax evasion messages saying I was warranted for arrest! Twice I have answered the call and they don't respond to my voice as it is a recording.The other two times they have left a message on my answering service.Nuisance!

These sleezy little creeps seem to enjoy ringing the elderly making threats. However, when I call them, they hang up on me!!!!! Make no mistake about it, these are scammers!!!!
