Tax office scammers.

19/9/16 2 missed calls with same messages as above reports.. I have received many calls from these people. They use recorded messages. The first few (in the past 9 months) was the Indian sounding female voice) and the second I have had a male voice also not an Australian sounding voice saying the same thing. Today both calls were the same recording but very different from previous calls. Poorly recorded and also mentioned even if we have registered on the Do Not Call List.. threatening prosecution from ATO for tax evasion etc on and on ... I have received over 20 of these calls, not always with this number to call back on.

I was thrilled to receive the robo-call from this number today. I rang back straight away to query what I needed to do. The gentleman confirmed he was "John" with the Audit Investigation Office in Sydney and wanted my mobile number to check what the issue was.

He hung up when I informed him who I work for.

Call received today 16 August 2017. Automated voice message purporting to be from the Tax Office. Scammer.

Left a couple of recorded messages threatening arrest for tax evasion - total scam.

Received a recorded message saying we had a delinquent account, threatening proceedings. Complete scam.

Scammers definitely - stated I was about to have Notices of Demand issued for unpaid tax debts !!

Received a recorded call on a very bad line, claiming to be from the tax office. I hung up. A scam.

just had a second call from this number within 15mins. persistent . Scammers. ATO reordered message with threats of Police coming to our home to arrest us.

2 calls. a month apart. second one today. very threatening recorded voice, but recognised it as a "Tax debt" scammer and hung up. It is scary for older people.

Just received this threatening phone message too! Glad I'm not the only one and hope no one falls for the scam. Anyone we can contact to report??

Sounds like an "Official" Message from the ATO, it's a scam.

received an automated voice message threatening dire consequences, when I tried calling the number back it rang out

Lady left a message twice today--same thing, ATO fraud and I may be prosecuted. Sounded English/Australian, message kept breaking up.

Received a voice message for from this number with allegations of tax evasion. However our call was from an automated voice rather than a real person

Has rung me 4 times in the last 24 hours with a hard to hear recorded message starting off "this is a recorded message from Taxation Office..."claiming to be "Taxation Office" but also mentioning "Do not Call Register".

Have received 2 calls from this number today (15/9/2016), a recorded message threatening me with dire consequences if I do not call back immediately. Tried to call back (knowing it was a scam), the phone just sounds like a fax line. Just a scam. But frightening for older people.

Be very careful if you have elderly family members, as this is very frightening for them, best to pre-warn them if you can, and always to ask first before doing anything. It is good to say, it is in the hands of the AFP.

Scam claiming to be tax office. Left a number hung up on me multiple times
