same as roy. when i called back and quoted the ref number they gave me, the person asked for the phone number I was using to call from and then hung up.

Got a call from this number this morning. Same message as Roy. Claimed to be from the ATO and that there was a court case and a warrant has been issued by the AFP.

Message left claiming to be the taxation office with a pending court case and a warrant for my arrest. I have seen this scam before. First time I called ATO and they said they never communicate this way.

This number called here just after 12 noon on 6/9/17, left message on answering machine. Said there'd been a complaint about me to the Australian Taxation Office, and that there would be legal action including arrest if the message was ignored. It was an automated computer voice, not a real person, and even quoted a "reference number" for the Australian Tax Office. The spiel finished with "Don't ignore". Absolute scam - when I looked up this number on Reverse Australia, another number came up with the exact same scenario - (02) 5306 2279. Obviously using different numbers to spread their filthy scam, with threatening tones meant to scare people into complying.

Called saying from ATO. When asked who they wanted to speak to, hung-up!
