Man with bad accent claiming to be Michael Anderson. Wants your tax file number. Gets abusive. Call him back again.. changed his name to Peter Williams from ATO. Very amature scammer !! Seriously.. he needs to try better. Keep ringing him back. Its very amusing how upset he gets :o)

Recorded messages plays which states "there has been a legal complaint under my name for tax avoidance and fraud... and i need to call 5306 2283.." THIS IS A SCAM. The taxation office does not operate in this

Received a call this morning from this number, I answered, and they hung up. I called the number back and a guy answered "Hello, Australian Taxation Office", I hung up. It's not the first time I've received scam calls like this.

Just Got a voice to text message from this number (02) 5306 2283 telling me they "had a legal complaint under my name for tax avoidance and fraud" the guys name is Michael Anderson - pretty sure this is a SCAM as the ATO don't call ppl for this sort of thing

If you get a voice to txt message from (02) 5306 2283 to call back regarding money owed to the Australian Tax Office, DO NOT return the call. It is a SCAM. The ATO does not make these type of calls. These fraudsters may already have your name, mobile number and address and possibly other details from Facebook, Tweeter etc., that may give away your age/date of birth. DO NOT give out any other personal details such as: Tax File Number, Medicare Number, Centrelink CRN, Bank Accounts, etc. You may lose some money if foolish, but don't lose your identity! Be warned.

Got the same call advising they are ATO and I'm under investigation and I've been charged with tax invasion and will be arrested if I don't call back , contacted my account who advised this is a total scam and if you get a call from this Michael guy , tell him to get stuffed .

Yes, I received a phone call this morning, asking me to pay $5218 immediately by cash or iTunes. When I asked to verify my case # with ATO directly just to corroborate their story, they got very agitated and ended the call by saying that local police will be contacting me to serve me with an arrest warrant.

Received a phone call today from this number regarding tax fraud and avoidance and that they have a warrant and that I must call back and speak to Michael Anderson.

A family member just received a call (on message bank) from the infamous "Michael Anderson". Had fraud written all over it. Came here to investigate and see we are not alone. Beware this scammer with his fake claims of tax avoidency.

Got a recorded call saying from ATO and I think it's a scam. I received another call last week from a different 02xxxxxxxx number and record voice and message was different. But pretty much same about ATO issues.

Received a phone call today from (02) 5306 2283 regarding a large tax debt and that they have a warrant and I will be arrested if I do not call them back and ask to speak to Michael Anderson. Absolute scam.
