Missed call during evening dinner time. No voice message. Typical phishing attempt. Never answer this type of call.

Caller: Indian man in a noisy call centre somewhere Sounded like a busy overseas call centre so I just put the phone down and continued to enjoy my dinner and glass of wine. He (the Indian man) was gone when I checked an hour later.

Caller: Dodgy call centre Using a NSW number but clearly the call centre is in India. They knew my name but had an address I had 13 year ago.

This number looks like a NSW (Australia) number. An unknown number. I’m in Melbourne. When it rang a few rings I answered. There was a silent pause, then a buzzing sound. Just as I was waiting for the caller to speak, I realised I had a Scammer on the line. The man spoke with an Indian accent, “Hello... I’m Orlando from LED leadlight”. Yep.. a Scammer. I said “Where are you from again?” He repeated the company name. I asked if he’s in Melbourne and he said “Yes”. But the number isn’t a Melb one. So I told him exactly that and he hung up on me! WHY can’t TELSTRA do a damn thing about these scams? Telstra = Multi-Billion dollar company. Surely they’ve got the cash & equip to BLOCK these daily scams from our mobiles & landlines???
