Tried calling back & got diverted to Telstra's message bank 101 service which was full & was informed that number was busy.

Another phishing exercise by Indian accented people. It is a worry that they know people's names and line of business, but I guess they ascertain that from the directories. Maybe time to ditch the landline altogether...

Rang- silence and hung up.
I've reported it to Telstra, on 13 22 00, and had the number blocked on my phone.
Telstra told me that they will investigate.

Rang- silence and then hung up. Looks like this crowd have been operating from this phone number since the 8th December 2015, that's 2 months ago, why do Telstra or their service provider not disconnect their number for carrying on an illegal activity?

Scam. A woman contacted me to tell me that if I did not log on immediately and follow her instructions to fix my internet it would be hacked and Telstra would disconnect it. I hung up and a male calling himself Alan Baker rang insisting that I log on. I hung up again and he rang back twice. He eventually stopped ringing.

Wondered who this number (checked Google) belonged to because when I answered rather than my husband, the caller chose not to answer. I rang them back but of course, they chose not to take the call.

Phone rings, no one answers for awhile then says "good bye" in a threating tone. The voice is female. I have got about 6 of these calls in last couple of months.

I had the same. Had fun with him. When he said my internet service was about to be disconnected I said: "Thank God! What took you so long? I've heard about internet viruses and I've hardly been able to sleep for worry about one sneaking into the house through our internet connection and giving us all the sniffles". After a ten second pause I heard an Asian equivalent of "Smartass! and he hung up.

Yep, it's the same old "I'm calling from Telstra" dodge which is used, with variations, all over the world. They tell you that your computer has been hacked, and proceed to take you down a track of instructions that will ultimately lead to your giving them control of your computer so that they can "fix" the problem. You can guess what they are up to when they have control of your computer!

If I'm having a quiet day I have some fun with them by responding as an alarmed, but IT-inept senior, sort of a Mr Magoo, if you know this cartoon character. Along the lines "Now, I'll just have to switch on my computer first...Where's the ON switch..." I string them along for up to 10 minutes, till we get to the instruction that leads to you giving them control. I then say, "Oh, something has come up on my screen: S-C-A-M. What does that mean?" That gets rid of them - till next time. If I don't want to play, I just tell them to F... off.

Have just had the same number ring and when I answered saying my name and repeating hello, hello was hung up on. Called back thinking the problem may be at my end but discovered telstra 101 messaging and no explanation for who I was calling, plus couldnt leave a message as the service was full.

Claiming to be from Telstra head office in Melbourne (using an 02 phone number) and that my internet would be disconnected, when I advised I was not a Telstra customer she changed her story to my PC had been hacked and that I needed to log on so she could help protect my PC. Obviously a scam. Rang the number back only to get a Telstra 101 home message bank which was full.
I rang Telstra and they are not interested even though this number states is a Telstra 101 message bank.

Telstra needs to investigate this number and put a stop to this scam

Sam as everyone else. Said internet would be disconnected immediately after I hung up the phone. I swore at him. He swore back. Funny for a Telstra employee.

Rang me a couple of times by the 4th call I told them that I had reported their number to the AFP as they were trying to scam people. They quickly apologised for ringing and hung up. I haven't heard a thing for 2 months now.
