Recorded message telling me broadband being disconnected as NBN now available. When you push 1 as instructed you get an American accented recorded call. Yeah, right.
If you wait you get....wait for it.....an Indian accented guy with all that call centre chatter behind.
It’s a scam.
Play with them though, like I did. Breaks up your day and it’s a bit of fun.

Yesterday afternoon I received a phone call from I understood them to say National Broadbands, saying that my Internet and landline would be cut off in 24 hours. Press 1 to speak to a technician which I did and explained that I was planning to transition to Telstra in the morning. The line cut off. Earlier that day in the morning I had received a call to
say that my Internet would go off in an hour. Press 1 for a Technician, which I did, and said I was planning to transition to Telstra in the morning, she said ‘We are Telstra’. When l still had the Internet an hour later I assumed this was because I would be transitioning in the morning.
I see that both these numbers (02) are Telstra. The date was roughly when we expected the changeover to NBN. I had previously called at Telstra to ask what I would do when the changeover came. She said to call in and ‘transition’.
This morning we visited Telstra and asked to ‘transition’ however it appeared we have wi-fi until late in May. He said it would be a Scam, it is done face-to-face.
On your records both these numbers are down as belonging to Telstra. Very strange.
I am very very elderly, but will opt for face-to-face.
