Received a call on my business line today, identifying vaguely as someone calling on behalf of a government database. Wanted to confirm my fax number, email, address.
I went along with it for a little while whilst googling the caller phone number. Found this listing so decided to probe within the phonecall.
After some well approached discussion it turns out she was calling from a call-centre (outsourced) however did not offer the name of the call centre. I was able to get a website for the company this polite lady was calling on behlf of... http://www.azgovbiz.com.au/
Definitely not government run at all.
Lucky I had already 'updated' her with incorrect details

This person from this number is people who are employed by anyone of the public to ask information about specific people through phone call. Please do not answer from them. Someone from your area wants your information.

said they were from CSI a Government department, & gave me the usual "updating our database" bs then wanted to email to me info about printing services they offer

Just got called by this number, asking me questions but was very vague answering my questions, would not tell me what the call was about so I told them I was busy.

Said they were with the CSI in the government! Took my business web address, postal address and town lactation. Figured that they could not do to much damage with what was already available on the web!

Said it was for the govenments records only.

Doesn't answer call back.
