It's Accor Hotels trying to sign you up to their loyalty program, Advantage Plus. It's not dodgy or bogus, but they are pretty hardcore sales people.

Constantly calling, even though I decline each year and say I'm not interested they keep at it!

Accor i.e. Novotel hotels. I stayed at one for work purposes in 2006 and have been receiving phone calls from them every few months ever since, despite asking nicely/demanding/yelling, trying to get them to remove me from their list. GRRRR.

Have been calling daily but hanging up on the first dial. I presume they are trying to get people to call back. Seems pretty bogus

Hi Darren, I don't know where you've stayed but I always found the room/service to be excellent hence I have just renewed my membership making it now something in the order of 10+ years we have been members. As Steve says above utilising the 50% meal allowance just about knocks out the membership fee then on top you get a free night plus discount on all other stays.

Just as a preamble to my last message below, as stated I was a foundation member of Accor Advantage Plus, I've just dug out my old membership card which expired 04. I just checked the online membership fee which is $318. As stated below, a little bit rich for me at the moment and if $299 has been offered, is cheaper than $318 online. Still safer though than giving a cold caller credit card details over the phone unless you know who they are!! Saying all that, I think we used to recoup the cost in meals alone by riding the bike tracks (not on the roads, lol!) from Wollongong to Bulli & back and doing smorgasbord brekkies on return and this is a Wollongong number, so probably the same people that used to call me, trying again, but I say again, if you are a regular traveller and stay at hotels and travel with a partner or wife for the 50 percent deals, then no doubt of it is a business trip, would be tax deductible and is worth considering, not that I'm trying to sell it for them, just saying Accor are legitimate. Regards.

I've received a call from them recently that I didn't answer, can't believe the amount of spam calls I'm getting lately. I did belong to, firstly the Parkroyal Club, then when Novotel bought out Parkroyal the Accor Club. I was a foundation member in both clubs, I used their free nights hotel stay deals, their 50 percent stay deals and 50 percent meal deals many, many times and stayed at the Gold Coast, Wollongong, Melbourne, Darling Harbour, Brighton-Le-Sands etc and always found the rooms and service very acceptable and the smorgasbord meals exceptional, however when the price rose to $300, and this was around more than 10 years ago, I found that I wasn't using it as much so I declined to renew the membership. I always received the personal renewal call from the same person from Accor out of Novotel Wollongong. She was upset that I didn't renew, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. These days I just use the Internet hotel club deals for travel, as its not that regular anymore. However, if you are travelling regularly, it is worth it, as you do recoup the cost by using the free night and 50 percent meals alone and that's not including the 50 percent stay vouchers you receive, but I would recommend going directly through Accor themselves online, as why pay broker/sales person rates? and you do have to be aware these days of phone scams! It looks like I'm on the call list again, but I'm no longer interested, but I would consider it if I became a regular traveller again but I'd renew online.

Terrible marketing. We gave up on Accor membership a couple of year ago as we found the service to be poor and the 'Free" night rooms were the worst in the hotels. I found their sales techniques appalling and they are will not give up and will argue with you even when you politely tell them that you are no longer interested and will never join their membership program again.
As a result I no longer book myself or our staff into their hotels.
In my view this is a rewards program that just alienates their customers and it would appear to me that the management of the Accor group just have no idea the damage the marketing company and the poor rooms offered under the program is doing to their brand.
I would never suggest to anyone to join this program.

I work for Accor and we do not rip customers off it is a massive deal saving and offers you a free night that pretty much is the price of the membership so if u stay away at least once a year you have recouped your cost plus you get for two 50% off the food portion of the bill so if your meal costs 80 you pay 40 and you can use this as many times as you like along with further discounts on your hotel stays its worth while!! It's not a scam and allegiance are selling memberships for accor. Just thought I'd correct what is said here...

missed a call from this number on work WORK mobile. Glad I didn't take the call as based on above comments, my time that my employer is paying for would likely have been consumed on a non work related call. To disregard this boundary is totally unacceptable. If I was paying someone out of my budget, I would be unhappy if their time was being consumed by non work related calls where the caller was disrespectful of the request to terminate the call!

These telemarketers first started calling my husband to try and sell him some hotel membership program and, when he said he wasn't interested, they started calling me.
I have had 3 unwanted calls over the past month from these telemarketers, and they are getting really annoying now! :-(

My work has been receiving annoying calls from a accor telemarketer by the name of "Carole" who in the last 2 weeks has been calling and asking to speak to our staff members. When I ask her what it's about she says it personal, when I ask for her surname she snaps and is rude and says it's personal. The first 2 times when I put her through she was just trying to sell our staff members, membership for three hundred plus dollars, she rambles on & on and they have a difficult time getting her off the phone. The last 2 times she called I told her we don't take telemarketer calls and to stop calling the business and hung up on her. It is giving the accor group a bad reputation cold calling business and being extremely rude & pushy. She is clearly just getting the staff member’s names for the website as none of our staff have stayed with the accor group, and certainly won't be in the future as this has left a bad taste in all of our mouths! This despicable behaviour from these telemarketers needs to stop as business shouldn't have to put up with rude, pushy telemarketers wasting everyone's time.

I have just recieved a call from them, they called my work and by my luck i answered reception calls as the usual reception girl was away, and asked for me? She must have heard me say my name when I answered, but she just kept going on and on about Accor Hotels and 5 star hotels overseas and in sydney, cheap dining etc, i kept saying I wasnt interested but she she kept going at at! then she said how would you like to pay, mastercard or visa! what the! and then she had the nerve to ask if there was any other person they could call to give this offer as its an exclusive offer! Luckily i looked up their number and saw all your comments!

They keep ringing the SES Duty Officer to speak to individual members, I don't give out personal info and when I question them they say it is a personal call. This is a business phone for emergencies!!

scam artist call centre, producing themselves as Arcor, Sofitel Novotel Hotel chain.
Sign up for cheaper food and cheaper stay for annual 200$ so is the promise.nothing is for real.
this marketing company had nothing in common with Novotel..( I made the research through a person who is working for Arcor and a call like this would not be made by any members of ARCOR or accosiates
-------------watch ur money dissapear-----------
