Number calls home phone, I answer and there is silence, then a recorded voice says "good-bye" and hangs up. We get quite a lot of these from different phone numbers, always the same thing happens and if you try to call it back it is disconnected. Why the hell does anyone or any company or scam artist etc., even bother, what is the point? Grrrrr

Same here. Call the home number during the day then have a go at the mobiles later in the evening. Say they are from Telstra and that my internet is going to be disconnected for 90 days. I don't have any contracts with Telstra! Guy told me I was an idiot! I reciprocated with F**k off and hung up.

Since buying a Telstra Call Guardian telephone, not even one of these vermin have managed to speak to me --- $48 well spent.

Pretty sure it is a scam, caller claimed to be from Telstra, when I challenged his validity he offered me his supervisor who in turn advised me he was from a Technical Department in Telstra, when I queried which Technical Department he became very belligerent and aggressive and when I suggested they had nothing to do with Telstra he cut the call at that point. Just another one to be wary of.

It's a scam call to gain access to your computer. They ask you to install a programme that ends up giving them remote access. Either hang up on them or better still if you've got time, keep them online as long as you can - the longer they talk to you, the less time they have to call someone else. Plus it might annoy them - maybe.
Caller stated they were from Telstar and that there was a problem with my internet. They asked me to turn on my computer and I said that it would take some time. I kept the caller online for around 15 minutes with various excuses. Then the caller said "Listen very carefully, f*ck off" then hung up. Ha

Same as for Jen. Number calls home phone but when answered there is silence then recorded voice says goodbye. When you try to ring back the recording is that the number is disconnected.
