Received call, one minute of silence and hung up. Just purchased domain as well have been getting lots of overseas phone calls because they think I need a website when there's one on there. Lol

Thanks for all your comments. I started getting calls straight after registering a domain but didn't put 2 + 2 together. That would also explain the flood of email messages from web developers in India promising high search engine rankings. Next domain may not be as transparent.

yeh getting a call every couple of days, I pick-up, they hang-up. I also bought a domain but it was via wordpress. I guess maybe they use GODADDY or its just the same senario of accessible personal details. This is why i have a burner phone for stuff like this ;)

My comments about 917838882502 phone number calling and I am getting emails also...
so phone calls coming out of my whazoooo.... from these PHISHERS of men.
I registered a domain with CrazyDomains.com.au (UAE or WTF? owned now) and same thing happens as many of you are saying about GoDaddy... domain reg.
Seems that they are scanning the WHO IS reg so it looks like we have to use disposable emails or a very unused email account, because I am also getting so many emails form them in "INDIA" saying they are a very good web designe company etc aetc, which makes me laugh because they are using a ThierName @ gmail.com email address, SO UNPROFESSIONAL ,,,,, hahahahhahaha.

I received a call from this no. too. The problem with Go Daddy is that when you purchase a domain name they leave your details public! You have to pay to make your details private.

Received a call just now (4.30pm) after registering a new domain name with GoDaddy.com. I'm guessing it has something to do with that - trying to sell things that you don't at all need.
As I'm typing this im getting call after call from this number 0411 923 000), totallying three calls now. It's going straight to message bank. It's not actually ringing but I'm getting the message to say I have another missed call.
Before receiving these calls I go a call from a number from another country (+91 7838-882502). Don't answer, just block the number

They are able to look your details up in the whois registry. :( you have to pay extra to hide contact details - but sometimes it is worth it.
For me though I just ask them how they got my contact details that that stops them dead in their tracks and they stop recalling. But that is just my experience
