the ATO sends letters and only calls you if you made an appointment with them so they can call you.

I got call on my mobile today from a number I did not recognise and didn't answer. I got a voicemail with an automated voice saying something about a lawsuit / warrant for my arrest blah blah (couldnt hear who it was from due to the first part of the message cut off.)

Caller: Robot from pretend ATO

Warrant out for my arrest if I don’t return the call. Blessed me too. American robot?

Computer generated voice. Says they are from the tax office and have a warrant out for your arrest.

I have passed this number on to the ATO.

Sure Scam: ignore

Caller: Definitely Scam

Called me three time:
Voice Mail: "Your are receiving the call from Australian Tax Department" as there are charges f ........"

Caller: Recorded purporting to be from the ATO

I got a recorded message with a computerised voice saying I had to call the ATO as they had an investigation or warrant on my name.
He did end the message with God Bless, so that’s a nice touch I guess 🤣
