Prank claimed to be a LinkedIn SMS verification code.

Received a verification code but have no clue why.

Caller: +447873077777

Received a message saying "Your LinkedIn verification code is 892739". But didn't try to login from another device, I changed my password for my LinkedIn account just in case and deleted the SMS.

Received a text from the number in question claiming to be from broker- auto.com.au for a car I seen advertised on autotraders.com.au a person by the name of Emma trumpold replied and gave me full email to go to brokers site. Glad I didn't fall for their scam and part with $6,300. Bloody scammers, too many trying to make a quick buck by scamming others

I also got a LinkedIn verification code from this number for some reason...

Caller: OTP sms sent by Ebay criminal scammer employee

I tried to log in my Australian ebay account on 20/01/2022, after typed in my user name and password, i got two one time pass (OTP) sms from two different senders, the first OTP sms sent to me on 10:15am, it was the sms from real Australian ebay, however, the second OTP sms sent to me on 10:16 am seemed fake because IT DID NOT SAY IT WAS FROM EBAY AUSTRALIA, it was from this number - +447873077777, the strange thing was this second OTP that actually worked, obviously the criminal employee was monitoring user log in activity, that is sick, it looked like an inside job to me, just like the unknown number from Paypal Australia, Australian ebay has a serious security breach.

Caller: Linkedin Verification

This is a legit service for LinkedIn authentication codes, if you get an sms from this number, it means someone is trying to hack into your LinkedIn account. Change your password and turn on 2FA

Folks this number is from LinkedIn as just tested it, so what is happening is that someone is trying to hack your accounts here. First I blocked on my phone, then did two step verification - failed, then unblocked and the code came from LinkedIn - seems that this is a general verification service that multiple companies use.
Update your password and setup multi-factor authentication.

Does that mean I have been hacked too?

I think someone is trying to hack?? because when I tried to sign on Linkedin, there was another SMS but fron a different number and it sent me the code straight away butt it was just numbers & it did not say "Your Linkedin verification code is......

If people here giving different answers then clearly it is a hacker

Ignore the SMS. It is either a scam or a hacker.

I keep receiving random verification codes from this phone number (+44 7873 077777) and it doesnt tell me what its for

This is the text I got: "Your verification code is 08316". Out of nowhere.

This is the first time I have actually received coming from 447873077777 and saying "Your LinkedIn verification code is XXXXXX". Given I have had to receive verification codes for many businesses, it didn't surprise me intentionally but the number it was coming from didn't feel right. Coincidentally I had been working within LinkIn when this message came through. So I didn't take any action and attempted to go on line to see if I could find a contact number within LinkIn website, but nothing. So that was that - my phone gave me the option to delete OR delete and report scam - so I did the latter.

Type the number into a browser and a person's name will appear. It is a fake account. Upon fruther investigation, the is no person of that name residing in Spain and the number appers across other platforms as well, it appears to be a generic scam number.

Possibly, I have looked into the number and it appears to be a generc number that can be distributed and swapped amongst scammers. They apper to he having what looks like (for want of a better description) an open scammer to scammer, joke at our expense.

I have recieved multiple fake login codes from this number. I typed the number into a search and it came back with a contact for a person on Linkedin. Prior to this, a number of fake login codes were sent (also evidently fake) begining with a prefix from comuter generated automated numbers, alledgedly from Poland.

Received message for LinkedIn verification code. I don't even use LinkedIn.
