Caller: Claimed to be Telstra

Claimed to be Telstra offering 50% off my bill

Claimed to be from Telstra, offering a 50% discount off my next bill. Said they were offering this to all customers, because they'd had a high number of complaints about prices being too high. Also said they were going to credit me with 50,000 Telstra Plus points. Obviously a scam, but they knew my name and email address, and wanted me to verify my date of birth (I didn't, of course). Tried to keep me talking, even after I told them I knew it was a scam.

Caller: Apparently Telstra billing department

Said she was from Telstra billing department. After a long delay for her to speak and she was from Telstra, I hung up then she rang back asking why I hung up. Told her I didn’t have any accounts with Telstra. She said have a lovely day and hung up 🤣

Called through claiming to be Telstra. Rang back when I just hung up on them.

After a very long delay - she said she was from Telstra billing department. I hung up. She rang straight back and asked why I hung up. When I told her I had no accounts with Telstra. She said have a lovely day and hung up 🤣

Left a computer-generated message threatening with court action if I don't call back. I ignored it, obviously. Really?! When is law enforcement going to start doing something about this neverending harassment???
