My workmate just recieved a call from this number (+501) from a lady talking about his computer connection was going to be canceled and that she was from telstra.

He knew straight away it was a scam as he has nothing to do with telstra.

We played along for a bit and she wanted to access his computer and at that stage he told her to f*** off and hung up.

After googling this number and having a read, it most definitely is a scam and advise any others receiving calls from the +501 number to NOT answer.

I have received several calls from this number (+501) or (0501) but don't answer as I don't answer calls that are unfamiliar to me. I get this about 4-5 times a wk. I have no idea who it is but I don't really care. I just don't answer.

+501 is the number shown on my mobile for a call from someone claiming to be a representative of Miscrosoft who can fix my problems (that I don't have!) by following his instructions on my keyboard. I hung up but received several follow up calls that I did not answer. I believe this is a scam.
