Threaten to disconnect something ,can’t understand him

Indian sounding woman, claimed to be from the Australian Government, said they had sent out details over two weeks ago and kept telling my Mum that her bankcard was about to expire this year. But when she started asking what month was that, Mum knew she was a scam and told her so. That the Australian Government doesn't call up like that. She didn't do direct debit like the scammer was saying. She always pays her bills at the post office, and that she wasn't handing her details over to someone who was clearly a scammer. The scammer claimed they could call us for this as we were on the do not call register. Mum told them they were a scammer and then hung up on them. Their number was recorded on our phone's caller ID, so I reported them to scamwatch.

Claiming that my credit card is expiring and he has spoken to my bank

Claimed to be calling from Springvale in Victoria, advising that they were from the government re Call number blocking. Definitely not a Vic number.

phone rang, no one responded and then they had up. I see from previous comments that this number has been reported, not sure if Australia charges these people with impersonating the government as has been suggested the the USA does, (I doubt it) I have been told by telstra and scammwatch that nothing can actually be one to stop these people pestering all of us with scams, so what is the point of Do not call register or reporting these calls. I suggest that when you call the number back and you get a message that is is disconnected or not available, then these people are bouncing through servers from whatever country they originate from and "hijacking" local phone numbers, which is "ILEGAL" !!! in Australia and they should be tracked down and charged, but Telstra says there is nothing they can do!. We all need to block these numbers constantly ourselves to stop them. We could spend all day blocking numbers and they will just hijack another one. My solution is to just hangup ! works everytime. If I do not know the number I do not answer, they get sick of no answer before I do.

For all of you who received a telephone calls from these scammers you should also make a complaint to the Police and to Government authorities. Because these scammers are impersonating the Australian Government. In other countries such as the USA where these scammers impersonated the Internal Revenue Service and even the Police, the US government took these type of calls very seriously. They found the telephone scammers and charged them with offences. Even when these calls came from other countries eg. India or Pakistan these governments cooperated in finding the offenders.

Caller: Unknown Scammers

First they claimed the be the Australian Government, then they claimed to be Telstra. Every time they were told we didn't want their calls. Fifteen minutes later we'd get a call from a different person. Wanting to know how we paid our bills and what we paid them with. They were told they were a scam and they were hung up on. They have been reported to both Scamwatch Australia and Telstra.

Caller: Scammer - I don't know

I received a telephone call from 0252321589 on 22 Feb 2019 at 1:54pm in Victoria. I answered the phone on my land line, home phone and all i could hear was some sounds and soon after a very short while the caller hung up the call without saying anything. These sounds appear to be similar to other callers who frequently call my land line to scam me for Solar Panels Rebates, etc etc. So i called this number back and there was an announcement recording: " the number you have dialled is not in service." So i would not trust this caller nor number. I would say this is a scam call with their telephone number was made up or fictitious or fake making it to appear as though it's a real Australian number - it's not real !! Don't trust it.
