Caller: I phoned them

DEFINITELY a scammer. First thing - turn the computer off and DO NOT contact the number shown on the screen. I feel like an idiot, but did and got sucked in and lost $2000. Could have been worse. Thought they couldn't get into my bank accounts without a net code, and that was basically correct but somehow were able to get into the credit card. Luckily I had a $2000 limit on it and that saved the day. The money was transferred to a St George Bank Acct. This I think is another loophole.
If any doubts, ring the bank and check or have the bank account accounts locked, and change the password.

I cannot believe it but after being cleaned by "Geeks to U" and the antivirus updated to a better one. I've been hit again by clicking on an advertisment in an online game that that I've been using for months. This time the phone number shown is an (02) number.
My computer is currently shut down until I can sort it out again.
The investigation is still in the hands of the bank. These scammers make my blood boil. If I could get my hands on them, I would probably finish up serving time for murder. The problem is - not that people are stupid - but that he average Aussie is too trusting. These scammers are betraying that trust and have no honour themselves.

This is a scam.

You close your Web browser (press alt, control, delete) or restart your computer and it should go away

Caller: I called them - number displayed on computer screen

I was using Marketplace/ Facebook when I clicked on a video link. Immediately the screen displayed a message supposedly from Windows Defender stating my computer was locked because it had been infected with a Trojan Spyware.
I rang this number for assistance but alarm bells rang when they asked for a NetCode number from my phone so they could deposit $150 into my bank account.
I hung up and checked on the internet, IT IS A SCAM, I immediately changed my banking passwords (from a different computer with a separate IP address)

My laptop is frozen. The message states to ring this number as it a Microsoft help line. I cannot find any information about Microsoft phone numbers, as they direct people to use their computer (which is currently locked up).
