Choose Force Quit from the Apple menu, close Safari from there, and then launch it with the Shift key held down. If that doesn’t work, disconnect the computer from the Internet and try again.

happen to me right now , couldn't do anything on my laptop , called them and they have entered my laptop .

I got a pop up supposedly from Apple security. com saying Major Security issue - ring a toll free number immediately. Beware it is a scam and do not give you apple ID or any other info.
