This number was given on an email pretending to be from ‘PayPal Australia’. The email contained a receipt for a payment that did NOT make.

Same thing mentioned in other comments happened to me this week. Received an email with this number in it, and in the email it was supposedly a payment for $1000 I did through PayPal (this did not happen as I checked my PayPal account straightaway). This is a scam attempt by people claiming to be PayPal Australia. Do not click any links or attachments in the email, or answer any call if they end up calling you.

Same here 23/10/2025 - payment said to have been received. No deduction from account but the 1800 number is not the same as the one on the PayPal website.

I received an email today saying I have a PayPal payment of $1238.87 from a person called Pavitra Prakriti. This person's website states she sells natural products. I haven't used PayPal for years so I knew it was definitely a scam but obviously checked my bank account details to make sure money had not come out of anywhere. They are becoming more brazen. I have blocked this sender.

Have an email saying it's PayPal and they have withdrawn almost $400. This is the number provided in the email. It must be a scam as I don't have paypal
