This number popped up on our pc advising of a banking security breach. We rang the number. After awhile it became clear the operator on that number was trying to take control of our pc.

This just occurred on my mothers laptop however, it was via an automated voice message coming through the laptop. We did not ring the number and switched the PC off at the powerpoint. Problem now is, when we turn the PC back on, the message comes back on and can't do anything on the laptop. Any suggestions?

These people take charge of your computer. This is an absolute scam!!! The man stated they were from 'Microsoft' and were located in Western Australia? This was after the phone exchange can be heard redirecting to an overseas location. Seriously people, you are going to stoop to such a low to negatively impact others? I'll pray for you, you are going to need it.

Caller: Microsoft This number came up on my parent's computer in various pop up boxes as a contact to unlock the computer for a "security breach". Had a Microsoft logo and told them to call the phone number so an Engineer could help unlock the computer. Looks like a scam.
