Supposedly dorevitch pathology, but operator stated could not give me the company name due to privacy laws. I believe this to be a scam, chasing non existent debts allegedly owed to a well known company.

If it is truly a debt collector and they are doing their job to the letter of the law they shouldn't even reveal to you the nature of the call until they have verified who you are and that they are speaking to the correct person. As with anything, if you don't know them, don't ever give out your personal information.

When questioned about company name would only say who debt owed to and reluctantly gave 1300 no. And ref no.
But said under privacy laws couldn't give out company name, I told the caller that was not correct and ask to speak to supervisor. I was put on hold for 5 minutes, then I hung up and tried reverse no. Which came up with no company name. ?? They wanted my private info, but couldn't tell me company name, I don't think so!
