Got a sms about a add on Gumtree I had put up. Got a text from this number asking me they where asking e to email there friend about the car. Was wierded out when they said they would organise someone to pick up my car and they had the money in there pay pal ready to send me, all they needed was my bank details. Told them I do not trust online banking and would only accept C.O.D or bank cheque, no response. Why would anybody buy a car 2nd hand without viewing it first. More so since they said they where buying it for there son to drive why they are away in the army.

I also received an SMS from this number and thought the phone number was strange as it was international. We looked it up and found SMS originated from New Mexico, USA. Was very suspicious so Googled this number and saw your post. You have saved me time wasted following up. Thank you for sharing your experience. My experience was exactly the same.
